History includes commits reachable from HEAD (the default branch for GitHub imports), up to 5,000 commits. Authors are grouped by their recorded email address, ignoring case. Different emails remain separate identities; co-author trailers and .mailmap aliases are not merged.
Line changes compare each non-merge commit with its parent. Merge commits count as activity but add no line changes, preventing integrated work from being credited twice. Renames count as removal plus addition. Lines at HEAD count UTF-8 text, including comments, blank lines, and tracked generated files; they are not blame-based ownership. Language mix uses file extensions. Selecting a contributor switches language mix to their added lines.
Downloads and expanded uploads are limited to 100 MiB, and text blobs to 1 MiB. Missing history and excluded metrics are flagged above the report. Local Git objects are processed in a browser worker and are not sent to the server. Repository objects stay in memory and are discarded when analysis finishes or is cancelled. GitHub downloads pass through the Sites backend.
